Mediasation Selected to Support Palmetto Peloton Project
Firm will provide framework for automated registration, online donations
(Greenville, SC: March 1, 2007) Mediasation, a Greenville-based Web development
firm, has been selected by Greenville Hospital System to host the Palmetto Peloton
Web site and create an automated registration and online giving application for
its participants. The Palmetto Peloton, led by cyclists, cancer survivors, and
others touched by cancer, is an annual fundraising event benefiting the Greenville
Hospital Oncology Research Institute in partnership with The Children’s Hospital,
the Clinical Research Unit in collaboration with the Cancer Centers of the Carolinas,
and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Last year’s event hosted more than 500 riders
from across the United States and Canada. More than 1,000 riders are expected
at this year’s event, which is slated for Labor Day Weekend.
Through the Palmetto Peloton site, participating cyclists can create their own
Web page through which their supporters may make secure online donations. Greenville
Hospital System will have access to Web-based reports on participants and donations
to monitor the success of the project.
“We are once again thrilled to have Mediasation deliver solutions that enable
GHS to increase our efficiency and obtain the information we need to create successful
philanthropic programs and help our community partners and volunteers be more
successful,” says Gina Turcotte, director of Cancer Services for the Office of
Philanthropy and Partnership.
